Sony Computer Entertainment Australia advised sales of the PlayStation 3 in Australia rose by over 400% in the week since the recent price drop.
The new prices are set to $349.95 (AUD) and $449.95 (AUD) for the 160GB and 320GB models respectively. This price drop leaves the units $150 cheaper than before.
Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia Michael Ephraim was understandably pleased and will now ask Sony's R&D team to develop a solid executive chair built entirely out of Australian $50 notes. Sony Corporation is reported to be pleased and isn't sure if they'll be converting the Australian profit to another currency at this time due to current exchange rates.
