The Nintendo eShop is the digital store for Nintendo 3DS. Content includes original 3D games, classic titles remastered in 3D, Virtual Console games, and more than 350 Nintendo DSiWare games. You can also view video game trailers, screenshots, and info for downloadable and retail games. eShop was first included with a system update in North America on June 6, 2011, and in Japan on June 7.
Check out this Destructoid blog post chock-full of delicious Cave Story-related goodness, including details on future Steam updates (leaderboards!) and an upcoming (a month!) eShop release, as well as a good word on Wii U development and system power. Unfortunately, this pretty good news comes off the heels of some pretty bad news: La Mulana, the retro indie Metroidvania-adventure-platformer that Nicalis intended to publish on WiiWare, has been canceled, though a self-published PC release is still in the works by the developer, and you can still download the original freeware release.
Tiny Cartridge reports that Nicalis’s next eShop game (and first Wii U game!) is Aban Hawkins & the 1001 Spikes, an enhanced remake of an Xbox Live game by JPN 8Bits Fanatics. 1001 Spikes is a retro-styled Platform Hell side-scroller that surprises you with death! Nintendo will release GBA games for 3DS Ambassadors in Japan this Friday. The same games are expected1 to follow overseas on the same day, but Nintendo hasn't yet confirmed this. Besides the five previously confirmed games (Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong), the five newly announced games are:
Nintendo Europe have announced that both The Last Story and Pandora's Tower will see 2012 releases in Europe for the Wii. These titles, in addition to Xenoblade Chronicles, currently have no releases confirmed for the United States.

In a corporate news brief today, Nintendo has announced an $80 price drop for Nintendo 3DS, effective August 12. The price slash comes less than six months after the launch of the handheld console, plagued by sluggish sales caused by a lackluster game library, an online distribution platform that his been critically dismissed as a pathetic joke1, and fierce competition2 from its predecessor, the Nintendo DSi.
