More good news for Adventure fans. Following the recently kickstarted Double Fine Adventure, another fine alum of the genre, Jordan Mechner, has announced that his seminal cult-favorite, The Last Express, is coming on iOS devices later this year.1
Published by Brøderbund in 1997, The Last Express is a point-and click adventure that put the player on board the Orient Express in July 1914, crossing Europe on the eve of World War I. It pushed the boundaries of interactive narrative in ways that no other game has done before or since.2
The 3DS is failing right now, more than any other reason, because of smartphones and tablets offering compelling gaming experiences. And when the iPhone 5 launches in the next several weeks, you can expect it to officially kill off the 3DS. … Here's a news flash for you, Nintendo: consumers do not and will not care about the 3DS. Angry Birds is such a great expression of the power of the medium because it can basically stand above all of these other super-expensive, super-technological, super-graphical games and still be as, if not more engaging, than the others.
