3-D Worldrunner

Released in Japan as Tobidase Taisakusen, 3-D Worldrunner follows a space cowboy marathoner on a mission to save various planets overrun by serpentine beasts. For its time, the game's three dimensional scrolling effects, similar to to the Mode 7 graphics seen years later in popular Super NES titles, was technically advanced. Designed by Hironobu Sakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, and Nasir Gebelli, the team later rose to fame as core members of the original Final Fantasy team and also developed the sequel, entitled JJ. The globetrotting action adventure was not only highly peculiar, it also came with free 3-D goggles!
