Final Fantasy VI

An RPG for Super NES by Square in the Final Fantasy series

For a world that has experienced senseless tragedy, magic can beget only plaintive sorrow. But the advent of high technology, which has ushered in a golden era of prosperity, has also conferred upon those with iniquitous intent the means to harness and manipulate that long-forgotten power. A grave mistake is about to be repeated.

Trivia

In the Japanese version, Terra was named "Tina", a name that sounds exotic to the Japanese ear and one that probably would have remained unchanged were most normal translators involved. However, Ted Woolsey is far from normal. His many strange and inexplicable changes ("Son of a submariner!", et al.) in the game's English translation are a testament to the phenomena known as Woolseyisms.

Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V and VI to be released on PlayStation Network

Square Enix have announced three RPG titles to be released on the PlayStation Network: Chrono Cross will be released on November 8, Final Fantasy V is set for a November 22 release and finally Final Fantasy VI is scheduled to be available on December 6.

Final Fantasy V has been available in Europe on PSN since April 13, and Final Fantasy VI since June 2. Chrono Cross has never been made available in Europe - with Square Enix previously advising "unfortunately a combination of technical and business reasons means that Chrono Cross will not be released in any PAL territory"1 - hopefully this changes and a PSN release is on the cards.

Why graphics matter...

Why graphics matter...

BlogThe more I think about it, the more it bothers. That is, the more people say "graphics don't matter" the more I think they're full of it. Actually, the more I think about it, I find the graphics are incredibly important to me. But maybe I'm being too loose with my definitions. Because whenever I think, "graphics," I automatically lump in art direction. Talking about how good the graphics are is pointless if what is being animated is boring to begin with.
