In the 21st century, a futuristic Tower of Babel called the orbital lift stretches up through the stratosphere. Though the lift was abandoned after a world war broke out between opposing military powers, armies of militarized Wanderung Panzers, German for "walking tanks," battle to regain it. Albert Grabner becomes embroiled in a conspiracy of global proportions after being hired to foil an assassination attempt on a high ranking political official. He will come to discover the secrets of the orbital lift project and how the enemies of peace wish for it to be used.
