SaGa Frontier 2

An RPG for PlayStation by Square in the SaGa series

Anima is the binding force that sustains all life; the force that drives two unexpected heroes and their kin on perilous adventures throughout the course of a century.

The story unfolds by first selecting a location on a map, like a chapter out of a book. When each chapter is completed, more chapters become available. The two main intertwining story arc are between King Gustave XIII of Finney and the Knights family. Gustave's stories tend to play out more as dialog and strategic, chess-like battles than the Knights family, which is more akin to a traditional JRPG format with dungeon exploration and monster killing.

Though characters and monsters are sprite based, the world of Sandail is hand-drawn in watercolors. The score is predominantly bright and upbeat, making heavy use of the piano.

Because whenever I think, "graphics," I automatically lump in art direction. Talking about how good the graphics are is pointless if what is being animated is boring to begin with.

Ultimate Hits a hit

Ultimate Hits a hit

Five hundred thousand. That is the number of copies that Square Enix's Ultimate Hits budget series has sold since its inception in September 2005. Since then, it has been a remarkable tool for the company to curb the high prices associated with the sales of used titles and personally pocket the popularity of their classics. To accompany this tremendous success, Square Enix will be releasing no fewer than sixteen more titles into the Ultimate Hits line on July 20, including Valkyrie Profile and Final Fantasy Tactics. Are you listening, Konami? I want my Suikoden II. Read on
