Silent Hill box art

Something has happened to Harry Mason's daughter. Driving late at night to the resort town of Silent Hill, Harry is confronted by a ghostly apparition blocking the road ahead. Swerving to avoid what appears to be an eight-year-old girl, he crashes his car. When he wakes, its daytime, but a thick fog has descended over the area, and Cheryl is nowhere to be found. As he leaves his car, he hears the footsteps of a child somewhere nearby.

  • There are a total of five different endings to the game, including one which is only accessible the second time through the game.
  • The plot of this game was loosely adapted into a 2006 feature film of the same name.

New Silent Hill title announced

New Silent Hill title announced

Konami has announced a new Silent Hill title at a press event in San Francisco. Not much information is available at this stage, other than the title will be developed by Vatra Games. As more details emerge it will be interesting to see who from Konami is involved, what platform it is for and whether it is an original title (as opposed to a similar title to Silent Hill: Shattered Memories). As previously stated Akira Yamaoka has left Konami, time will tell if he is still happy to jump onboard as a freelance composer or not.1

Silent Hill composer leaves Konami

Akira Yamaoka confirmed he has left Konami. No word yet on what he'll end up doing, and according to Square Enix Music Online it would be likely he'll end up a freelance composer like many before him (Norihiko Hibino, Yoko Shimomura and Yasunori Mitsuda to name a few). While this might be a loss for Konami, frankly Silent Hill hasn't been the same for a while. It will no doubt do him good to go freelance and get some different work. If he ceases game composition entirely however he will be sadly missed.1
