The debate over whether videogames that depict violence, namely Mortal Kombat, Grand Theft Auto, Kirby's Dream Land, etc., incite violence in otherwise nonviolent people.
There's also the issue of, rather than inciting violence, games desensitize players into a lulling acceptance of it. (See Virtual War for how videogames might be changing the psychology of soldiers of war.)
Whether or not violent games actually nurture violent people (studies show it is doubtful[1]), the debate has led to censorship and threatening legislation throughout the developed world (see Alex's blog for several thoughtful entries regarding the censorship of games released in Australia).
Gamasutra: California Submits Arguments For Violent Game Law |

The Supreme Court is getting set to revisit a proposed California law restricting the sale of violent video games to minors, a process that sees a major milestone today as the state submits its written argument in favor of the measure.
It's spearheaded by California Senator Leland Yee, the original author of the law, whose support -- along with that of California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger -- has brought it again to the court's attention, despite the fact that such measures have repeatedly been ruled unconstitutional on free speech grounds.

An educational halo-like clone, Dimension M, that combines the love of killing aliens with the lameness that is math, is an attempt to lure kids into studying while at the same time provide a fun atmosphere to keep them coming back for more. Harmless you say? Well, apperently some parents in Arizona feel that the math element of Dimension M is being lost under the "violence" in the game.
