A Composer and Director for Square and Alpha Dream

Chihiro Fujioka is a game designer and music composer. He joined a PC game development company Xtalsoft (pronounced "Crystalsoft') in 1983 as a programmer and sound designer. The company merged with T&E Soft in 1985 and was later purchased by then Square company president Masafumi Miyamoto.
Fujioka was recruited to Square in 1992 to direct the Game Boy title Final Fantasy Legend III while simultaneously composing the score. He wrote the scenario for Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and directed Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Afterwards, he left Square to work for Alpha Dream, makers of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. More recently he served as director on a Pokemon spin-off title starring the anthropomorphic gerbil Hamtaro.
