Jeremy Soule

A composer for Artistry Entertainment and (formerly) Square & Humongous Entertainment

Jeremy Soule

A critically acclaimed composer and musician, Jeremy Soule heads Artistry Entertainment, a distinguished leader in music production for the interactive entertainment industry. According to 2002 figures furnished by NPD.com, Artistry Entertainment is the most distributed provider of original "film-quality" music for the games industry. This accomplishment includes over ten major releases and as many as six top-sellers composed for five of the world's largest publishers.

Jeremy Soule composed the music for the Squaresoft classic action RPG Secret of Evermore, together with Julian Soule. He is also the composer of such titles as The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Icewind Dale, Dungeon Siege, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Neverwinter Nights, along with being a remixer in the OverClocked ReMix community. He contributed an arrangement in honor of Nobuo Uematsu and site creator David Lloyd (djpretzel), Squaresoft Variation, a remix of the Final Fantasy VI piece "Terra".

His music from the Harry Potter series was performed live in 2003 at the historic Symphonic Game Music Concert in Leipzig, Germany. In 2005, his music from Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was performed live at the third Symphonic Game Music Concert as well. Recently it has been announced that his music will be featured in PLAY! A Video Game Symphony. PLAY! is a symphonic world-tour presenting music from various blockbuster titles, including Morrowind and Oblivion.

Jeremy Soule also completed a 3-hour epic, cinematic score for 3D Realms Entertainment's upcoming first-person action game Prey, as well as having completed the score for ArenaNet's sequel Guild Wars game, Guild Wars Factions. He later created the score for Chris Taylor's highly anticipated RTS Supreme Commander, the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation.

Since 2010, he collaborated with seven other composers on the Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker – Original Soundtrack, and also returned to the Elder Scrolls series by writing the score for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the Guild Wars series with his work on Guild Wars 2.

Guild Wars 2 impressions

Guild Wars 2 impressions

So I purchased a digital copy of Guild Wars 2 yesterday. I never played Guild Wars but I've played my fair share of World of Warcraft as well as a small amount of a few other MMORPGs and Guild Wars 2 looked promising.

Jumping into a new MMO, even for someone who's played one before, can be a pretty big jump. You have no idea of the world's setting, game mechanics or whether the community is going to be comprised complete idiots. Logging into the game with promises from the developers of "putting the player first" and have no grinding, I was either in for a surprise (of it actually being true) or a let down. Read on
