Jun Iwasaki served as president and CEO of Square in 1998, following the departure of founder Masafumi Miyamoto. Iwasaki also supervised the Square Electronic Arts localization facility based in Costa Mesa, California. Following his tenure at Square, he started a new publishing company called XSEED Games, which localized Wild Arms 4, Shadow Hearts: From The New World, Valhalla Knights for the North American market. XSEED was formed to provide marketing services for Japanese clients in games and anime, with the long-term goal of becoming its own game publisher.
