Motoi Sakuraba is a music composer known for adding a baroque element to the progressive rock style of the 1980s. He is famous for his complex rhythms, the use of male choir singers, and heavy reverb. The lighter side of his compositions exhibit a crossover between classical symphonic, cinematic orchestra, and new age. He is considered a virtuoso rock keyboard player and sports an awesome performing style, as witnessed on the DVD release of his Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile live concerts, where he introduces jazz-like improvisational riffs. In addition, he has contributed music for Namco's Tales RPG series and Tri-Ace's Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile titles, making him one of the most prolific composers working in the videogame industry today.1
