Takashi Tokita

Takashi Tokita is a video game developer for Square Enix. He joined Square in 1985 and is best known for his work on Final Fantasy IV (as well as its sequel), Chrono Trigger, and Parasite Eve, of which he wrote the scenario based on the book by Hideaki Sena.

There's no more room left for imagination in most modern RPGs. In the 8-bit era, the memory limitations of the cartridge format and the means of expression were very limited for developers, but that left more room for players to deduce and imagine. It's important to provide a tried and tested experience, but it's equally important to betray these expectations in a way that feels good to players.

Leona Lewis song to be the theme for Final Fantasy XIII western release

BlogSquare Enix have announced the release date for Final Fantasy XIII in a swanky video with a presenter. They also managed to plug Leona Lewis, who is getting one of her songs chosen as the theme for the game's Western release. Her album, Echo will be released on November 16 and November 17 in the UK and the US respectively. Read on
