Tomoyuki Takechi

An Executive Producer for Square, DREMUSIC Inc., Trinity Security Systems Inc., and DiMAGIC

Tomoyuki Takechi

Tomoyuki Takechi, the former president and chairman of Square Co. Ltd., began his career at Shikoku Bank in 1979 and joined Square in 1996, assuming the office of president and CEO. It was then that he presided over some of Square's most popular titles, including Final Fantasy VII, Xenogears, and Final Fantasy VIII. He later became chairman in 2000, but resigned in February 2001 to "take responsibility, for the company's plunge into the red in fiscal 2000 for the first time since it was set up in 1986..." He did not, however, commit ritual suicide, as was expected of him. Following his resignation from Square, he founded DREMUSIC Inc. and was a member of the board of directors for Trinity Security Systems Inc. He is also a board director at DiMAGIC and Trinity Security Systems Laboratories, Inc.
