Nintendo blog Nintendo Life asks the iconic Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka to list five of his personal favorite music tracks with accompanying discussion on why they resonate with him.
Great find Kanji. I especially enjoyed the "Moments in Love" track, which is a version I've never heard before. Art of Noise are the great geniuses of synthpop.
Absolutely. I actually had heard that version, but I can't say it surprises me that Yamaoka is a fan. I'm a recent devotee of his music, but even still, the picks all fit.
@Mr_Domino yeah, definitely. You can really hear the 'Silent Hill' vibes shining through (not the best choice of words, but eh) in these songs, although I have to admit I don't think I'd have picked up on some of these cues if I listened to them outside the context of this little interview. and I definitely need to seek out more Art of Noise stuff, the Anne Dudley track was fab.
