@Matt yeah that's mentioned too. What interests me though is perhaps the link between the two. There's not really much going on with the Nintendo 3DS at the moment - so people think they can buy similarly mediocre products for a few dollars off the iTunes Store.
I'm probably reading too far into it - some people probably would still do the same even if the latest Mario game was out.
